Allan honed his skills during nearly a decade in management consulting, working with prestigious international firms, including McKinsey and Co. His journey into entrepreneurship led to the co-founding of Technology Venture Partners (TVP), a formidable $240 million venture capital fund. Under his guidance, TVP invested in 26 early-stage tech companies, which subsequently raised an astonishing $700 million in equity and grants, with three notable $1 billion exits.
Not content with these achievements, Allan ventured into energy services, founding a fast-growing company. His commitment to fostering innovation is evident in his five-year stint as an Advisor to the Accelerating Commercialisation grants program, where he played a pivotal role in securing grants of up to $1 million each for 28 technology-based businesses.
Currently, Allan serves as a Defence Industry Advisor for the Department of Defence, contributing his expertise to this critical sector. He is a General Partner with an Australian Early Stage Venture Capital Partnership, Access Capital Ventures, and holds positions as a board director and chairman of several technology-based companies.
Allan’s academic credentials are equally impressive, holding a Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace, a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Sustainable and Renewable Energy, and an MBA.
